Former elite athlete in both netball and rugby, representing New Zealand in rugby, Parehuia Mafi joins us with a strong sporting background. Pare also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences from Auckland University, specialising in Counselling and Addiction, a Diploma in Social Work, Co-existing Disorders, and is a Constellation Therapist and ACC Rongoā Vendor.

Pare became a qualified Iwi Kaiwhakaruruhau (Practitioner) and Kaiako-a-Kaupapa (Facilitator) whilst working for Te Korowai Aroha o Aotearoa – Indigenous Education and Training Authority, a non-government national organisation that specialised in the restoration of Māori models of practice.

Pare co-founded Whānau Mārama System Mapping with Erin Lewis in honour of her mother Whaea Jozie Karanga’s legacy to liberate ourselves from our intergenerational mamae (trauma) and release our individual and collective potential.
